Special Interview with Prof. Xiao-Li Tian
On January 15, 2026, the Editorial Office of The Journal of Cardiovascular Aging conducted an interview with Prof. Xiao-Li Tian from Nanchang University, Jiangxi, China. The interview was hosted by Dr. Yang Zhang from Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai, China.
Prof. Xiao-Li Tian highlighted his group's long-standing research on the interaction between aging and genetic factors in cardiovascular diseases. His team has provided important insights into the mechanisms of healthy longevity and age-related vascular diseases. Prof. Xiao-Li Tian also discussed key challenges in vascular aging research. Looking ahead, he expressed optimism that advances in multi-omics technologies and artificial intelligence will accelerate translational progress toward delaying vascular aging and reducing the global burden of cardiovascular disease.

About Prof. Xiao-Li Tian:

Prof. Xiao-Li Tian is the former Dean of the School of Life Sciences at Nanchang University, Jiangxi, China. He is a founding Principal Investigator and Director of the Institute of Human Aging at Nanchang University. His research focuses on the mechanisms of vascular aging and age-related diseases, as well as potential interventions. Prof. Tian has published over one hundred papers in internationally renowned journals, including Nature and Aging Cell. He holds numerous national invention patents related to the prediction and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and aging.
About Dr. Yang Zhang:

Dr. Yang Zhang is a Chief Physician in the Department of Cardiology, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai, China. His research focuses on the mechanisms and translational studies of pan-vascular aging, as well as immune aging and cardiovascular remodeling.
