Special Issue Introduction

Main-group chemistry is rapidly emerging as a central theme in modern inorganic science, offering unique opportunities to explore reactivity, bonding, and coordination beyond traditional transition-metal frameworks. As global demands grow for sustainable and cost-efficient solutions in catalysis, energy, and materials design, main-group elements are increasingly recognized as powerful drivers of innovation. The 1st Main-Group Elements Reactivity Conference reflects this rising momentum, uniting researchers to discuss fundamental advances and practical applications.

This Special Issue, Advances in Main-Group Reactivity: Mechanisms, Coordination, and Inorganic Chemistry, seeks to highlight pioneering studies that bridge mechanistic understanding with transformative applications. We welcome original research, reviews, and communications covering topics such as:

● Reactivity and bonding of main-group elements;
● Coordination and structural chemistry;
● Main-group compounds in catalysis and small-molecule activation;
● Functional materials and new synthetic methodologies.

By integrating mechanistic insights with applied innovation, this Special Issue provides a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange, driving the development of next-generation inorganic chemistry.

Keywords

Main-group reactivity, mechanistic insights, coordination chemistry, inorganic chemistry, small-molecule activation, catalysis, functional materials, synthetic methodologies
