Special Topic Introduction
Copper alloys are widely used in power electronics, electric transportation, and advanced manufacturing owing to their excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and reliable mechanical properties. However, as application demands continue to increase, achieving an optimal balance among strength, conductivity, and long-term stability has become increasingly challenging using conventional trial-and-error development approaches.
To address these challenges, this Special Issue focuses on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and data-driven methods for the design, processing, and manufacturing of advanced copper alloys. Contributions are encouraged that integrate AL/ML techniques with physical metallurgy, computational modeling, and experimental validation to improve efficiency and reliability across the alloy development process.
By bringing together recent advances in alloy design, process optimization, property prediction, and data-driven analysis, this collection aims to highlight practical and scientifically grounded approaches for accelerating the development and intelligent manufacturing of advanced copper alloys.
