18 June: In the 2024 Journal Citation Reports, JTGG received its First Impact Factor of 1.0, ranking Q4 in (GENETICS & HEREDITY).
9 June: The Association of Chinese Geneticists in America (ACGA) and JTGG have formed a collaborative partnership. JTGG is now the official affiliated journal of ACGA.

27 February: JTGG announced the 2024 Best Paper Award, celebrating authors for their exceptional work, which has contributed significantly to the field of genomics education.

16 January: JTGG published its 2024 Annual Report, summarizing the journal’s major milestones and progress in 2024.
4 January：the Article Processing Charge (APC) was officially adjusted to $2600.
2 January: The journal's manuscript submission and peer review system, MESAS, was upgraded to enhance user experience. The new submission portal can be accessed at: https://www.oaecenter.com/login?JournalId=jtgg. Users can still access past submission information in the new system.

19 November: JTGG has selected the top 10 most popular articles, covering diverse and impactful topics including DNA damage response, inherited retinal dystrophies, the impact of cow milk consumption on prostate cancer, and genomics education for medical specialists.

11 June: JTGG receives a 2023 CiteScore of 2.7, placing it in Q3 of journals in the“Medicine” category.
February
29 February: JTGG was accepted for Inclusion in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). Publications of JTGG from 2022 will be fully indexed in the Core Collection of Web of Science.
January
19 January: JTGG announced the Best Guest Editor Award, which is designed to honor and encourage outstanding Guest Editor(s) of a selected Special Issue. On the same day, JTGG announced the Best Paper Award 2024 to recognize and promote high-quality contributions to the journal.

9 February: JTGG recruited global Junior Editorial Board members through self-recommendation and selection by the Editorial Board.

In Sept, the first online Editorial Board meeting of Journal of Translational Genetics and Genomics was successfully held.
In June, Journal of Translational Genetics and Genomics (JTGG) was accepted in Scopus.
2020
In October, Professor Sanjay Gupta, Carter Kissell Endowed Chair of Urologic Oncology, Case Western Reserve University, was appointed as the next Editor-in-Chief.
2019
In April, Professor Li Jin, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, joined the Editorial Board of JTGG as Honorary Editor-in-Chief.
In March, JTGG became a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
2017
In December, JTGG was founded with Professor Jian-Min Chen from INSERM (Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale, Brest, France) as the Editor-in-Chief.
