Legal Medicine Research is an international peer-reviewed, gold open-access journal focusing on innovative research in the field of forensic medicine and serving forensic practice. Its primary objectives are to advance the development of global forensic medicine, foster in-depth interdisciplinary integration between forensic medicine and related fields, and elevate the discipline's research standards and authentication capabilities.
The journal focuses on publishing innovative, cutting-edge research findings within the discipline, as well as new technologies, methodologies, and concepts that significantly contribute to the practice of forensic identification. Accordingly, the scope of published content includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Injury and Death of Biological Individuals: Focus on innovative research related to the death and injury of biological individuals (including humans and animals), such as the study of postmortem Omics and their temporal patterns, the cause, mechanism, etc., of death and injury.
- Identification and Kinship Analysis of Biological Individuals: Research on novel theories, methods, and equipment for identifying biological individuals (e.g., humans, animals, plants) and determining kinship relationships.
- Poisoning and Substance Abuse: Focus on innovative research concerning new technologies and methods for analyzing toxic substances within biological individuals, as well as studies on the mechanisms of drug addiction and the development of preventive/interventional pharmaceuticals and methods.
- Mental State and Legal Responsibility: Emphasis on novel theories and methods for the objective diagnosis of mental disorders in individuals involved in legal issues.
- Objective Examination Technologies and Methods for Assessing Functional States of Human Organ Systems: Focus on novel theories, technologies, and equipment for the accurate assessment of human visual, auditory, sexual function, intelligence, mental state, age, etc., utilizing objective examination techniques such as electrophysiology, imaging, and artificial intelligence.
- Environmental Pollution and Personal Injury: Focus on research into the mechanisms by which external environmental changes cause harm to biological individuals, such as the mechanisms of injury and death resulting from food contamination, water pollution, soil pollution, etc.
